Urban League Grant Program
The Florida Consortium of Urban League Affiliates received a state appropriation of $2,437,834 to develop and implement proactive initiatives to address and impact crime in the black community. The programs operate in Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Saint Petersburg, Tallahassee, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
The Youth Crime Prevention and Intervention Program is a public awareness and education effort to motivate the black community to support, promote and participate in crime prevention programs and activities. It targets specific proactive strategies and activities to address and impact the problem of juvenile crime and to foster collaboration and improve communication among various agencies serving youth.
